Peeler

  • Client: QUON
  • Year: 2025

Peeler is a chair inspired by the act of peeling away material. By shaving flat surfaces from cylindrical oak rods, it achieves a simple and rational jointing system, realizing both strength and lightness within a structure stripped of unnecessary elements. As the wood is carved, bent, and brought into contact, the grain reveals its own unique expression, enhancing both functionality and beauty. The chair directly reflects the experience gained through the making process and the inherent characteristics of the material itself, questioning what the essential value of furniture can be within a minimal structure. Through this exploration, STUDIO COHAKU proposes the integration of natural forms into everyday life, presenting furniture not merely as a tool, but as a presence that adds depth and richness to daily living.
